On April 15, 1912, Titanic, the world's largest ship, sank after colliding with an iceberg. This fall, 98 years later, The Museum in downtown Kitchener will pay tribute to the tragedy which continues to resonate in Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition.

In honour of the 100th anniversary of the Canadian Navy, HMCS Fergus: Life Abroad a WWII Corevette explores the living conditions of the crew and their relationship with the town in whose honour the ship was named. The Fergus was one of 70 Canadian corvettes that providfed anti-submarine defence for the merchant convoys carrying essential supplies of food and equipment to Britain. HMCS Fergus was the last Canadian corvette commissioned in 1944.

Christmas in the Village is quickly becoming a 'must-do' family event during the Christmas season. The event usually held in the evenings early in December. Participants enjoy strolling the Village streets under the glow of Christmas lights – accompanied by a number of fun and whimsical characters and the sounds of Christmas music performed by school choirs and The Cascade Quartet. Participants can warm up inside with hot chocolate and cookies generously provided by Tim Hortons and Zehrs. The Village Education Center is normally packed full of families enjoying our indoor activities. People laugh with delight while being entertained by the Grinch (even when he goes head to head with Santa)! Chidren will have an opportunity to share their wishes with Santa. The children enjoy activities in the 'Kid Zone' which include Christmas videos, coloring and activity sheets, face painting and tattoos…all with a Christmas flare! It serves as a great way to bring the Community together

Experience Christmas traditions in the round, literally... true origins of the upside down Christmas tree, candle powered rotating Nativity scenes, the kissing, granny and pomander ball, and much more. Celebrate Christmas past from the Georgian to the modern eras and feel the warmth of the season through food samples, fireworks, horse and wagon rides and a visit from Saint Nick. Visit with Father Christmas, at the caboose 5-6pm and 7-9pm and enjoy a fire works display at 6:30pm. Please bring a non-perishable food item and help support the Salvation Army.
